The information on this page is for any member or prospective member of Doulas of Northeast Oklahoma (DONEOK).
DONEOK is a doula organization and support group located in Tulsa, Ok for local and surrounding communities. DONEOK offers encouragement, training opportunities, networking, and a forum for members to share our experiences as doulas and learn from one another.
Membership is comprised primarily of doulas, but we allow anyone interested in becoming a doula, or who is supportive of the work of doulas to be a member of DONEOK. Local DONEOK dues are $20 per year. Your local dues help sponsor our local events, meetings, in-service trainings, website maintenance, etc.
As a member of DONEOK, you may also obtain membership to DONA International for an additional $25 per year. Joint membership to DONEOK and DONA International will be $45 together, for a savings of $25 a year if you were to join each organization separately! With your DONA International membership, you will receive a subscription to their magazine, along with other mailings.
DONEOK members meet approximately 4 times each year (depending upon the current members' availability and desire). The annual membership renewal meeting is typically held in February or March at St. John Owasso, and is organized through founding member and current Secretary Cheri Grant. Our year is concluded with a Christmas gathering and taking gifts to some of the local hospital nurses who have supported us through the year.
Additional benefits for members include access to DONEOK's library for further training and education.
We are always looking for new members and are eager to share our doula spirit and help further the use of doulas in the greater Tulsa area. For more information regarding DONEOK membership, please email Cheri Grant (founding member and current DONEOK Secretary) at cbgrant_16@hotmail.com.
